Water is life,
yet water is inherently political. As cities expand, urban populations are increasingly in
competition with farmers and industry for access to water.
Hydro-hegemony consists of showcasing water conflicts from 3000 BC right until the 21st century,
demonstrating how water is the lifeblood of ecosystems; global environmental change, particularly climate change, and is
further intensifying competition among rival uses and users, leading to conflicts and war.
